Counseling, Supervision and Training Services
Counseling and Supervision
As a counselor and supervisor, I offer a warm, active, direct, compassionate and curious presence for individuals who want to experience more authenticity, acceptance and vitality in their lives and work. I offer therapy that supports the processes of becoming and belonging: sharpening our insights, learning to attune to our own inherent wisdom and often, and softening into accepting even the most challenging or "unwanted" parts of our being. In spite of the messages we've received, we all contain vast brilliance, inner resources, compassion and fresh ways forward. I'm honored to work with you as you deepen and expand. I believe when we take committed action which aligns with our values, we see and feel the effects.
I aim to meet you where you are and co-create a map to support your growth in therapy and in supervision. I am rooted in relational-cultural, attachment, transfeminist and experiential therapies, which means that I believe that as human beings, we heal specifically in relationship and that the present moment contains a wealth of information and opportunities to grow and heal. But we might want to slow down, tune in and sit with ourselves to allow a fresh way forward to emerge. I honor the individual and their experiences as a complex and interconnected being, physically, spiritually, emotionally and in community. As a white nonbinary queer person with many domains of acces and privelege, I acknowledge the impact of systems of domination (white supremacy, racism, transphobia, misogyny, classism, ableism, and fat phobia) as they relate to your wellness and access to resource. I believe that being an ethical, competent and engaged counselor and supervisor means that I need to invest in continuously learning and evolving how to integrate and embody intersectional practices in my work. I do this through my own supervision, training and continuing education. As a clinical supervisor, I integrate an intersectional and transfeminist approach alongside an Integrative Developmental Model (IDM) in working with counselors and supervisees.
I was trained as a mental health counselor at Antioch University New England in Keene, NH and received advanced post graduate training from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO. Since 2011, I have been practicing counseling and have served communities in schools, community mental health and currently in private practice. I trained with Mark Nickerson in Levels 1 and 2 of EMDR. My training, experience and therapeutic approach is collaborative and eclectic: I often use anti-oppressive & critically conscious, transfeminist, relational-cultural, insight-based, contemplative, and experiential therapies. I am also trained in EMDR, which is an intervention that incorporates somatic & cognitive therapies to reduce distress and resolve trauma. I work from a trauma-aware, developmental and relational, phase-based approach in all areas of my professional life.
Trainings, Consulting and Working with Organizations
As the Program Director and and clinical teaching faculty at Antioch University New England's Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program, I have experience creating curriculum and course content in addition to developing new courses in accordance with CACREP accreditation standards. I also have experience teaching masters-level students as well as facilitating trainings and workshops for students, faculty and the larger community. Workshops, trainings and speaking engagements have included topics centered around gender justice, developmental trauma, queer, transgender and nonbinary clinical support, working with trans Latiné immigrants, professional tools to address anti-DEI legislation, broaching multiculturalism in counseling, and addressing power dynamics in supervision using intersectional frameworks. As a current PhD student, I am frequently involved in conducting research (which I deeply enjoy) and aim to stay current on best practices related to integration of intersectionality and anti-oppressive practices in counseling, supervision, teaching and higher education.
